Cairns Aquarium

The new Cairns Aquarium is located right here in Cairns, and is a must-see for any traveller interested in the aquatic life of our planet. This aquarium was opened in 2017 and offers visitors some fascinating glimpses into otherworldly environments and creatures that can be found near or on top of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The mission of this aquarium is to encourage the protection of this World Heritage-listed ecosystem in Far North Queensland.
